Huntress

This is a surreal gothic fantasy portrait a vampiric huntress. I was going for an Apache warrior / Viking warlord sort of vibe with this one, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out :)
The artwork was created with Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop using a combination of digital painting with a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet, and photography with a Nikon DSLR camera. I painted on hundreds of digital paint layers to get that messy scratch effect, mainly with oil brushes in Corel Painter. I pretty much just use Photoshop for tweaking the lighting and colors.

For anyone wanting to sign up to my mailing list, I'm giving away a free full resolution digital download of "Born for Battle". It's a very large image, 9000 x 6750 300dpi, and I figured it would be interesting for people to be able to zoom right in to see the details and brushwork.
